Argues that one policy failure — not building enough homes where people want to live — is upstream of stagnant productivity, widening inequality, falling fertility, obesity and carbon emissions. Whether or not you buy the full chain, it is the clearest statement of the case and the reason "YIMBY" became a serious economic argument rather than a local planning fight.
